The Carnival of Candidates

Perhaps my characterization of the current Presidential selection process as a carnival is too harsh.  Perhaps not.  Yet, how can we take seriously Chris Christie as a candidate for President of the United States?  This, my friends is laughable.  The shoot-from-the-lip administrator of New Jersey traffic jams?  Surely, you jest.  It is indeed sad to see American politics descend to such a level.  We have ourselves, and the corporate media to blame, perhaps mostly the corporate media.

If you doubt my point here, take a look at the words of Theodore Roosevelt, an earlier Republican, which appear on my sister blog, The Musical Patriot.  Roosevelt, a successful President, possessed true personal and political values of virtue.  Let us hope that, at a minimum, our next President will have the same.
