Web Log Purpose

A web log based on the principle that a civilized society deserves democratic government based on integrity. The premise here is the U.S. democracy has effectively been subverted by oligarchical forces which must be opposed with facts and rational thought. (An RSS feed is recommended.)

The Fun (?) of Research

Finding out just what happened in Election 2014 is turning out to be a major Perry Mason investigation.  Where is Paul Drake when you need him?

Fortunately, there is information available.  However, with the press failing to do its job, I am left to do my own research, reading such things as "[HAVA] and Election Administration:  Overview and Issues," by the Congressional Research Service.   This would not be so bad if I had my own separate writing room and hat with the word "PRESS" conveniently and prominently displayed.

I don't really mind doing the research.  But isn't this what journalists are paid to do?  And where is the alternative press?  They, too, have largely let us down.  The one exception is Brad Blog.  And Greg Palast with his web site has been reporting on this issue valiantly.

So -- a book is necessary in order to fairly deal with the subject.  It looks like I'm going to have the makings for such a book after I do the research necessary simply to ease my confused and justifiably suspicious mind.
