At the link below Greg Palast writes about the evident disenfranchisement of hundreds of thousands of voters -- mostly voters of color in last November's election. This was based on a scurvy program called Crosscheck which purported to identify voters who were illegally voting in two different states -- a federal crime. Yet no one has been arrested for this alleged crime.
This is a major scandal. But worse in my mind is the fact that no reporters save Greg Palast even asked to see the lists. If hundreds of thousands of people were voting in two different states this would have been a major news story, to say the least. The fact that this was never reported on says volumes about the validity of the allegations. The fact is, these people did not vote in two different states and there was no reason to kick them off the voter rolls.
America, or at a minimum the South, is still a third-rate country when it comes to voting rights. As Palast says, it is time to march again for voting rights.
