Michael Cohen -- a flawed hero, but a hero nonetheless
“I’m responsible for your silliness because I did the same thing you’re doing now, for 10 years," Cohen responded. "I protected Mr. Trump for 10 years.”
Michael Cohen, Donald Trump's so-called fixer, testified with power and fortitude before Congress today, implicating the President in numerous illegalities and improprieties. While everyone, including the President, should be considered innocent until proven guilty, it is becoming clearer that this President is quite likely impeachable. Yet, Republicans continue to cover for him.
It is important to keep in mind that this man is and never was the legitimately elected President. In addition to having lost the popular election by three million votes, his Electoral College win was the result of a whole slew of Republican dirty tricks.
Note to world leaders and citizens: Americans are yet too complacent to do anything seriously to right the American ship. However, if the past is any guide, this will change, and Americans will do their duty. The question is whether this will come in time. Meanwhile, the U.S. people, to a large extent victims, need people around the world to voice their opinions to their leaders -- not for any use of force against the U.S., but for a statement of common purpose opposing authoritarianism in this nation, and in solidarity with the long-suffering American worker.
