A Monarchical Power Grab

New York protest today


It is clear the self-styled "emergency declaration" by Our Military Leader is essentially a power grab aimed at appeasing his hard-core far-right supporters.   For this is what they are in the American context -- far to the right.  The only people farther to the right are white supremacists and radical fascists.

This should not be regarded as hyperbolic language.   It is simply a fact.  So, what are we to do?  One very appropriate action is to protest in the streets.  This helps raise awareness of the issue and the fact that the American people do not agree with this vast and frightening over-reach by the executive.
