Fifty, one hundred years from now, what will they say? What will people decades from now say about us Americans who confronted such a president as this one? Will they say of us, "They stood up"? Will they say we had the courage to defy an un-Constitutional declaration? Further, will they say we met the injustice of our economic system, the thing which was causing so much pain and turmoil?
For the profit system is the economic form of fascism. That is what we have -- government and big money united to preserve an unjust, exploitative system in which the wealthy get richer and the poor get poorer. This is known. This is understood. This can be taken for granted.
The present moment is a crisis in democracy. But we have a choice. The time is short. But we do have a choice.
This is not the end of the story. Now, there is work to do. Let us be about the task.
