A web log based on the principle that a civilized society deserves democratic government based on integrity. The premise here is the U.S. democracy has effectively been subverted by oligarchical forces which must be opposed with facts and rational thought. (An RSS feed is recommended.)

Rapid Resource

Rick Hasen, chancellor’s professor of law and political science at the University of California Irvine School of Law says Congress likely won’t be passing election interference legislation on a federal level. Instead, the United States’ counties and states are all that’s between the 2020 presidential election and Russia’s horde of hackers.

This is actually a very hopeful statement as it indicates the average citizen has more of a voice in the outcome of the 2020 election than he or she may have thought.  By working together and speaking out, we should be able to stop the out-right of an election.

Unfortunately, the writer here does not mention vote suppression, especially voter caging as a major culprit.  Greg Palast, internationally known reporter has documented 14 million excisions from the national voter rolls.   This is what we must fight -- in the courts, and -- yes -- through blogs and social media.

A matter for prayer?
