I may have coined a term with this post: "trumpism." Whether capitalized or not, trumpism is inciting at least a plurality of Republican voters to toy with an American version of Nazism in the form of Donald Trump. At least one prominent Republican has openly called him "fascist." The article linked to below tells how the Republican Party could split over Trump in 2016. The article is by Jeff Greenfield, well-known political writer.
The problem, of course, is that Trump is not the only fascist. If anything Ted Cruz is further to the right than Trump. He's simply a bit more polite and polished, and a trifle less scary.
In any event the prospect of a Republican split gives hope for the Democrats next year. I'm nor wildly enthusiastic about Mrs. Clinton, by any means. But anything that would stop Trump and the other fascists, I am for.
