The current crisis in Flint shows the danger of a Michigan law to public safety. The law in question was passed in recent years to allow the new Governor of Michigan, Rick Snyder, to appoint city managers in cities deemed to be in financial crisis. Instead of solving Flint's ongoing financial problems, the law has led to a human crisis of gigantic proportions. When a government cannot guarantee something as simple as the quality of the water, America has returned to the Dark Ages. This is beyond embarrassment; this is a crime.
