Tonight, a Beginning
In coming days, I expect to provide something of a historical record of both recent days, and the new day now facing America. Tonight, I make a small beginning by helping us recall where we were exactly two weeks ago. America was expecting a Hillary Clinton win, with a large lead in the Electoral College vote. The polls were almost unanimous in this regard and essentially every respectable media outlet was putting forth a winning scenario for Mrs. Clinton.
What went wrong? The short answer is election suppression. You may want to consult my sister blog, The Musical Patriot, for news in this regard.
For the present moment, we start with the necessity of trying to prove the polls, including the exit polls wrong. This is 2000 deja vu. Those who looked carefully at the situation then, especially esteemed journalist, Greg Palast, knew that the Republican vote suppression operation succeeded in denying Al Gore the Presidency. And now they have succeeded again.
Step by step I hope to walk us through just what happened this year. We will begin with the polling just before the election and finalize our trip by arriving at our end point, which may be called Don't Get Mad, Get Busy.
I welcome you along for the ride.
